OnePlus 6: CodeName and Notch design appears

OnePlus6 is not yet launched but this week OnePlus released the OxygenOS Open Beta 4 update for the One plus 5T . The new OnePlus smartphone is codenamed “Enchilada”. This comes along with the naming scheme the company used for it’s previous flagships. The latest reports are out the days after the AnTuTu score of the OnePlus 6 which was spotted online. It’s online appearance revealed its 19:9 display and Snapdragon 845 SoC.

OxygenOS Beta 4 update brought Android 8.1 Oreo to the OnePlus 5T which gave us some details about the OnePlus 6. There were some references to the Enchilada codename within the settings APK file of the new Oxygen OS beta version. This is alongside the mentioning of “cheeseburger” and “dumpling” are the code names of the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T respectively. There is also an image showing the display notch within the firmware files. The image which is titled as “screendecor_up_img_enchilada_1”, appears to be used as an overlay to test apps on the notch display of the OnePlus 6. Also it is claimed to be similar to the previously spotted Huawei P20.

OnePlus 6 is claimed to come up with Cat. 16 Gigabit LTE connectivity which will help to enable maximum data throughput of 16bps as claimed by XDA developers. Rumours say that oneplus 6 will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 SoC which comes with the X20 LTE modem. By default, the modem supports of up to 1.2Gbps and uplink speeds of 150Mbps.
It is expected that OnePlus 6 will be launched in the second quarter of 2018, before June end.
