Instagram’s photo sharing platform is called trying out special features for influencers and celebrities available in a new type of account titled “Creator Account”. This special account will later enable influencers, gamers, and top artists or artists to take advantage of some of the tools and features available in it. Testing the features of this account, according to Ashley Yuki, Product Manager of Instagram, is designed to make it easier for influencers to use Instagram. During this time, influencers still used regular Instagram accounts whose features were deemed less suitable for them.
“We want to make Instagram the best place and the easiest platform to build communities and fans in developing their personal brands,” said Ashley Yuki, Product Manager Instagram.
Each feature is related to information on account development ( growth insights ), incoming message filtering ( direct messaging, DM), and flexible labels for contacts on profiles. For growth insights, users can search for how many followers and growth or decline based on daily and weekly statistics. Users can also see which posts trigger growth or decline so they can make the necessary adjustments.
Yuki says this insight feature can be applied to posting an image or video in the main timeline, Stories, or IGTV. For Direct Messaging (DM) Tools itself, the influencer is eventually going to be able to filter the message DM, whether read or unread or marked ( flagged ). Then, the contact label on the profile page can be used to manage how the user wants to be contacted, such as clicking labels to call or send e-mail. Creator Accounts are different from Business Accounts that are intended for brands or businesses and are expected to help influencers to use Instagram. Although the features have been revealed by Yuki, it is not yet known for sure when this Creator Account is spread through updates on Instagram. To be sure, this feature series is still in the testing phase by a handful of beta sedan users planned to be widely distributed starting next year.
